An exciting opportunity exists to join the staff of Relationships Australia NT as part of the Youth Diversion Program team at our Alice Springs Office.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Provide assessment interviews for participants referred under the YDP program.
  • Develop case plans and engage participants and where possible parents/guardians in the process.
  • A high level of involvement in the provision of family and victim offender conferencing being undertaken by the program.
  • Promote RANT programs for the improvement of individual and family relationships.
  • Raise awareness of the community’s role in diversion programs through education programs, public forums, and community based activities.
  • Provide individual services for young people in the target group, care providers, and their families with the focus being on assessment and appropriate referral.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Experience in working with youth on issues regarding youth disadvantage.
  • Experience working in remote Indigenous communities (for positions working in remote communities)
  • Ability to work with minority groups such as those with a non-English speaking background, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adopt the strengths approach in working with young people.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to utilise, a range of community resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to properly manage professional activities in an organisational environment.

Applicants will require extensive screening, referee checks, Ochre Card and Criminal History check.
