Strengthening family relationships - Helping families stay together - Assisting families through separation

 

 

The Family Relationship Centre (FRC) provides information about family relationships at all stages from strengthening family relationships to helping families stay together and assisting families through separation. Centre staff can also refer you to other services that can help.

  • Providing Family Dispute Resolution
  • Focusing on your children’s needs and help you decide what to do next.
  • Provide joint sessions with the other parent or family members to help you agree on parenting arrangements.
  • A range of other services and programs such as information sessions and seminars

If you are separating and wish to see a professional, you can make an appointment for a private interview. If appropriate, you can bring family members or a support person with you. Lawyers can’t participate in Centre sessions but you are free to seek legal advice at any stage outside the Centre.

In line with our commitment to providing services to culturally and linguistically diverse clients, interpreters and translations are provided free of charge if necessary.

Family Relationship Advice Line - 1800 050 321, between 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday. The Advice Line uses interpreters if needed.

 

Who can we help?

The Family Relationship Centre is for people separating or experiencing relationship difficulties.

 

Is there a cost involved?

Our fees are affordable and vary according to your income. When you call to make an appointment, our intake officers will discuss fees with you. Information, referral and individual sessions are free of charge.

 

Where can I access this service?

You can get help from the FRC in Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs.
